Silent Running (2018)
Video installation, 5 Monitors

This video installation features five monitors, each displaying a sign language user from a different linguistic background simultaneously signing the lyrics of Silent Running by Mike and the Mechanics. The synchronized performance underscores both the diversity and universality of signed communication. The work juxtaposes individual expressions with the collective rhythm of the song, while also revealing the cultural inscriptions embedded in each language, made visible through indexical signs.
